Golden

This was shot at Back Bay in Virginia Beach, Virginia very close to the North Carolina border. This is a beautiful and remote coastal area with the ocean on one side and marshes on the other, even a maritime forest to hike through. Was riding a mountain bike on the trails there one afternoon and brought my Nikon F4 film camera to shoot the sunset with. And what a sunset it was, filled with all kinds of golden tones and solitude.
The story behind the picture is that it was pretty cold outside and I had a flat tire while riding back through the forest with no patch kit and had to push the bike back nearly five miles to my car. But I guess it worked out in the end because without the flat I would have already been back to my car and long gone by the time the sun set and would have never seen this beautiful sight.
