Well I’ve got no clue what it is, but it is some type of control at a chemical factory in Fairbury, Nebraska. It’s an old shot taken with a Nikon F2 Photomic film body, available light, high speed Fuji transparency film, and scanned with a Nikon Coolscan 9000. The processed film is quite grainy because I pushed it a stop in development and really has an interesting look when viewed large.

Vintage Gibson Guitar

This is a full length shot of the guitar I posted yesterday. It’s Gibson L-00 acoustic guitar from the 30’s or 40’s. The guitar has a few rough edges but is in pretty nice condition considering how old it is. It also has a sweet bluesy sound and plays quite nicely. Used a Nikon D3, 55mm micro lens, one Lowell DP tungsten light in a softbox, and a foam core reflector for the photograph.

Detail of vintage Gibson L-00 acoustic guitar from the 30’s or 40’s. The guitar has a few rough edges but is in pretty nice condition considering how old it is. It also has a sweet bluesy sound and plays quite nicely. Used a Nikon D3, 55mm micro lens, and one tungsten light in a softbox for the photograph.

Aloha Tower

Aloha Tower in Honolulu, Hawaii. Used a Nikon F4 film camera, Fuji transparency film, and Nikon Coolscan 9000 scanner. In the first version I used Adobe Lightroom to convert to a sepia tone and the second is the way the slide actually looked. I gravitate toward the warm vintage look of the sepia tone version.
