This is another picture that was shot for stock photography use.
They were fairly large chrome plated screws to make it easier to photograph and were placed on a white art paper that had a medium reflective surface.
Used a Cambo 4×5 view camera and twisted the focus standards around to get sort of a vertically stretched look. The lighting was one tungsten Arri light in a lightbank from above and slightly behind for a primarily backlit look, with some foamcore sheets on the sides for fill light and highlights on the screws themselves. Also used a blue gel over the light and tungsten balanced Fuji transparency film for a nice cool, clean, and modern look.
Film was scanned with a Nikon Coolscan 9000 before editing in Photoshop.
