This is not a happy picture. This is one of the gas chambers used by the Nazi’s to kill their Jewish prisoners during WWII at the Majdanek concentration camp in Lublin, Poland. The prisoners were told they were going to get showers but got a lethal gas instead.
As grim a place it is I think it was a good thing that these places were not torn down after the war. We all need a reminder of how evil we are capable of being if allowed to go unchecked whether it be individuals or other countries.
I made this photograph with a Nikon N90 film camera and Fuji transparency film which was scanned on a Nikon Coolscan 9000.
