Cracked Earth

Found a place where there had been a lot of rain on a bare piece of earth that turned the dirt into mud. After a few days as it dried out the earth developed large cracks. Used a Nikon F2 Photomic film camera loaded with Kodachrome and scanned with a Nikon Coolscan 9000.

  1. Craig, I happened upon this by accident while browsing the web. I couldn’t resist making a comment and letting you know I think this is a great shot! My daughter is a photographer so you must understand that I’m not trying to mock or poke fun at “Cracked Earth” or sound disrespectful, but anyone who can make dry dirt look like the surface of a chocolate brownie has got talent in my opinion.

Chocolate is in the eye of the beholder!

  2. Shot this in Virginia Beach many years ago on the edge of a field that had a big bare spot with no grass. Used 35mm Kodachrome transparency film for the photograph.
