Rainy Day In Smithfield

This is an old photograph from the  70’s when I first started in photography. I have looked for the original negative but still can’t find it but found a small print that I just scanned with an Epson scanner. It was a rainy day but went for a country drive anyway and happened upon this sailboat in Smithfield, Virginia. Used a 35mm Nikon F2 Photomic body with a 24mm lens. Film was Kodak Tri-X developed in Agfa Rodinal and printed on fiber based paper. Did a lot of dodging and burning to get the gradations in the sky and water. Image is very grainy and at the time was blown up very large for a poster called “Tidewater” that an art director put together to showcase a printers capability.
